Recovery- Hurricane Katrina

Now, we take control

Twenty years ago, the levees broke—and so did our hearts. On August 29, 2005, Hurricane Katrina tore through our cities along the Gulf Coast, our homes, our families, and our sense of safety. Some of us lost everything. Some of us are still trying to piece it back together. For those who lived it, Katrina isn't just a storm. It's a scar, a silence, and strength we were forced to find. Today, we remember not just the disaster—but the survivors. And we say, as we heal that wound. We've waited for justice and healing. Now, we take control.
